Never Redeem Airline Miles For Merchandise!
When you are earning airline miles through a rewards credit card or simply through air travel, you have to redeem the rewards in a smart way. Sure, you are receiving these wonderful airline miles that you can redeem for just about anything you want, but there are certain things airline miles should not be redeemed for. Taking that into consideration, it’s best to begin with the obvious purchases.
Do Not Redeem For Merchandise
When you are redeeming your airlines miles for merchandise, you need to recall that you are purchasing something with those miles that is far less valuable than an airline flight. Regardless of where you’re flying to, you cannot possibly get a piece of merchandise that is even remotely as valuable as a single airline ticket. Simply put, merchandise is a bad investment with airline rewards.
Try Not To Redeem For Domestic Coach Flights
Domestic coach flights tend to be relatively inexpensive, and they can become so cheap that it is almost not worth using your airline miles at all. For the frequent traveler, it is best to use airline miles to, at the very least, get a first class or business class ticket. These tickets are more expensive and much more valuable when it comes to redeeming your hard-earned rewards.
International flights, however, are very expensive, and they can be cut into a great deal by airline miles. These miles need to be used to pay for something that is almost overwhelmingly-expensive. In this way, airline miles become more valuable because they are helping you get something you might not have gotten otherwise.
Sell Them
Selling your airlines can be a great windfall for you, but you have to remember that not everyone values airline miles in the same manner. You can sell airline miles to anyone you want, but you have to calculate what they are truly worth based on what your buyer wants them for. Only then can you put the right price on them.
When you are keeping airline miles in your pocket, remember that they can pay for just about anything, but they are most valuable when purchasing the most valuable plane ticket or in a sale to a traveler who values them greatly.
